Cabinet Boettcher

1876

In 1876, Jean Henri Emile Boettcher, a civil engineer, began working as a patent consultant.

1876

1883

In 1883, while continuing to work as a patent attorney, he joined forces with Achille Marilliet to set up the company E. Boettcher & Marilliet for "the exploitation and sale of patents, the purchase and sale on commission of machines and appliances of all kinds and the publication of a technical journal".

1883

1883 also saw the birth of a founding text: the Paris Union Convention (CUP), which governs the major international principles of industrial property law.

1883

A few years later, Henri Emile Boettcher, his son, took over. Henri-Emile, who had a degree in science and law, and then a doctorate in law, became an industrial law attorney - the forerunner of today's Industrial Property Attorney.

It is developing our international network by becoming a foreign member of various institutes outside our borders: Institute of patent attorneys of Australia, Canadian Institute of Patent Solicitors, British Institute of Trade Mark Agents.

1967

Over the years, he was joined by a succession of partners until 1967, when the Boettcher family ceased to own shares in the firm with the arrival of Robert Chevallier (an engineer from Arts-et-Métiers).

1985

In 1985, Guy Fruchard and Jean-Pierre Robert joined forces with Robert Chevallier, who was replaced on his retirement by Xavier Jaunez.

1985

2006

In 2006, Bruno Lavialle and Benjamin Parzy, who had been with the firm since 1996 and 2000 respectively, became partners. Mr Fruchard, Mr Robert and Mr Jaunez retired from the firm at the end of 2000, handing over the reins to Bruno Lavialle and Benjamin Parzy.

2018

Ten years later, following Benjamin Parzy's departure, Audrey Decorchemont, Marie-Flore Ribeyron and Stéphane Lemaire, who had been with the firm for several years, joined Bruno Lavialle in the association. Thomas Lavaud will also join the association in 2018.

2018

On the strength of its continuous practice in industrial property matters since 1876 and its vast network of foreign correspondents established over the years, CABINET BOETTCHER has recognised expertise and a long history of client support.
